Simplified syntax

Simplified syntax is the use of symbol/word selection, phrase structure or sentence structure most readily understood by the user.

Contextual Use: Samuel is an English Language Learner who has difficulty comprehending complex sentence structure. When administering assessments, the teacher rephrases the test directions with simplified syntax so that his limited English will not prevent him from understanding the directions.
